Graduate Fashion Show and Marketing Exhibition 2011
Coming to you from the very heart of London we are delighted to present the final collections of 11 graduating fashion design students and 20 graduating fashion marketing students. The shows mark the culmination of four years' study and each collection and project is original and individual, representing the student's personal philosophy and creative ideas about fashion.
Our students of Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing come to study in London from all over the world, and our alumni work in rewarding fashion careers internationally. Many of the students started their degrees without sewing or design skills and with little knowledge of fashion. The creative, contemporary collections show the strong awareness of modern fashion the design students have worked hard to develop in just four years of study. The marketing projects show creative ideas based on sound market knowledge that will make these students the fashion marketers of the future.
The shows reflect the international nature of the students. Sculptural pieces, modern organic shapes, minimal pieces with vibrant knit detail, beautiful grunge biker wear and practical street wear with a twist describe some of the creative collections of this year's graduating designers. They were inspired by teenage witchcraft and pagan ritual, the legend of Robin Hood, the impermanence of nature, survival and sustainability and the idea of a rebellious princess trying to escape the palace tearing through the overgrown garden on her roaring Harley Davidson.
Marketing projects include a new brand of perfume created in Grasse France, an on-line auction house for luxury fashion, a "Gorilla" advertising agency, a customised handbag brand, a personalised luggage brand, an eco-friendly destination store, an on-line fashion store with crowd-rated items, a menswear brand, and YouBeauty a social networking site dedicated to beauty and fashion.
